Q) How long has Enviromaid been in business?
Enviromaid has been in business for almost five years. As founder of Enviromaid, Emmanuel Rey integrated many of his personal down-to-earthy values into the business; service alternatives which promote the use of natural, toxic free and eco friendly products.

Q) What kind of cleaning products do you use in houses/offices? (Not brands, necessarily but contents and ingredients)
Minimizing exposure to harmful chemical products is important for our customers, their families and our employees. Enviromaid uses only products containing natural sourced ingredients which are often plant based extracts or minerals. Vinegar, vegetable glycerin and baking soda are often key ingredients in many of the products we use. Most natural cleaners are odor free or are naturally scented by the ingredients (IE citrus oil) present in the product.

Q) Can environmentally-safe cleaning products clean as well as the standard store-bought cleaners? How do they compare in cleaning power? How do they clean?
Most of our products offer similar or better cleaning power. Although some standard store-products are more effective than our environmentally friendly products, we use good old elbow grease to make up the difference. Many of the new enzyme based or “bleach alternative” products that have been coming out use some of the same ingredients that our products have always used. Ingredients such as Hydrogen Peroxide (a natural bleaching agent) have long formed part of our products. The concern with some of the new store-bought products which contain ingredients such as Hydrogen Peroxide, is that they also add unnecessary chemicals and perfumes.

Q) How much of a factor do you think Enviromaid’s green cleaning is for clients who engage your services?
Our green cleaning approach is often of foremost importance to our clients. Of course, we have some customers who are just happy to have a home which is cleaned with care and detail, and don’t care how we do it. We are happy that they choose to work with us – every little change we/they do in life can make a big difference.

Q) What services do you provide?
Enviromaid provides home, office, and commercial cleaning. You can choose a deep/spring clean and maintenance visits to follow. Or you may just need a one time or move in/out clean. Please see our "services” page for a full list of available duties.

Q) Do you provide cleaning products?
Yes. We will bring our own environmentally friendly products. Our staff travels by TTC so we need you to have on hand a mop, bucket, vacuum, stepstool and for sanitary reasons a toilet brush. If you have eco friendly products you would like to be used in your home, we are happy to use them.

Q) What are your hours of operation?
Our office is open Monday to Thursday from 8:30AM-4:30PM and Friday from 8:30AM-2PM. Our cleaning staff is available from 8:30AM until 5PM Monday to Friday. We service commercial and offices evenings and weekends.

Q.) What payment methods do you accept/how do I make a payment?
You may pay with cash, check, visa, and MasterCard. If using a credit card, information should be given when booking your appointment. If using a check or cash please leave it with our cleaning staff.

Q.) How much notice is needed to change or cancel an appointment?
24 hours notice is required. A $40.00 cancellation fee applies if insufficient notice is given. We compensate our staff for travel expenses, travel time and lack of payable working hours.

Q.) If I am unhappy with a cleaning, what do you do?
It is important to us that you are happy with your clean. Please call our office within 24 hours and let us know what you were unhappy with. We do not give refunds but will be happy to send another staff member to fix any problem areas.

Q.) Am I required to be present during the time of service?
We would like to meet you in person on our first visit. Once we start work you should feel free to go on about your day. Find a quiet coffee shop, have a cup of tea, read your favorite magazine enjoy your time. Once we start regular cleans you can decide what your comfort level is as far as key arrangement. Some clients prefer a lock box others have a key made for their cleaner. It is really up to you.

Q.) What should I do with our pets?
If your pet is friendly he/she should feel free to roam as usual. If your pet is not fond of new people it may be best if he/she is in a kennel.

Q.) Are you bonded and insured?
We understand that it is a privilege to be in your home/business. To ensure that you and your investment(s) will be protected, we are bonded and insured. In the event that an object is damaged, please notify our Customer Service Center within 24 hours.

Q.) How do I receive discounts?
We want to thank you for spreading the word about Enviromaid. We would like to offer you 15% off your next scheduled clean.

Q.) How many staff members do you assign to a job?
During our first deep/spring clean we would send 2 or more staff as it is usually a big job. Regular visits will be provided by one staff unless your home is over 3500square feet. We try our best to send the same person for every clean.

Q.) When given a price quote the range seemed quite large, how do I know how much it will cost?
We give an estimate on the phone or by email based on the size of your home and our estimated time to clean your size home. Unfortunately we do not know the state of your home until we arrive. We try our best to complete the job in the estimated time but as things go some jobs are just a lot more involved than we anticipated.

Q.) It seems your prices are slightly higher than some other companies, why is that?
When harsh toxic cleansers on not being used there is a lot more elbow grease involved. We value our staff and the hard work they do and feel that they should be compensated well for their hard work.
